What To Bring To Your First Visit

We take the guesswork out of what to bring to your first visit to our Ashburn office. To help make it a smooth and efficient appointment, please bring:

  • A valid photo ID

  • Your dental insurance card, if applicable

  • A list of any current medications you’re taking

  • Any relevant dental records or X-rays

What To Expect At Your First Visit At Ashburn Dentistry By Design

Your first visit with us is all about getting to know you and your oral health goals. We take the time to listen to your concerns, needs and goals so you feel heard and empowered. During this visit, you can expect:

  • A Warm Welcome: Our charismatic team will greet you upon entering our Ashburn office and will ask you for your patient forms. We will make sure we have everything we need such as a valid ID, insurance information and health history.

  • Dental Cleaning: One of our professional dental hygienists will perform a dental cleaning where we will remove any plaque or tartar buildup on your teeth, polish them, floss and discuss with you preventative treatments such as fluoride or dental sealants.

  • Digital X-Rays: If you are due for any routine dental X-rays, we will use our advanced technology to capture precise, digital images of your mouth including your teeth, gums and jaw.

  • Comprehensive Exam: Your dentist will then perform a comprehensive exam and check for any signs of an oral health problem such as cavities, gum disease or mouth cancer.

  • Open, Honest Discussion: We value open, honest communication with all our patients and will discuss with you our findings during your exam and recommend a treatment plan going forward.

  • Follow-Up Appointment Scheduled: Before you leave our Ashburn office, we will schedule your follow-up appointment, typically six months out, for your routine dental exam and cleaning. If you need additional treatments such as a dental filling or crown appointment, we will be happy to find a time that works best for you.
