You should have a routine dental exam and cleaning every six months, according to the American Dental Association. By visiting us twice a year, we are able to make sure your teeth are strong and healthy, offer preventative treatments like fluoride and dental sealants and detect any oral health problems for early prevention and effective treatment planning.

You can request an appointment with Ashburn Dentistry by Design by filling out our online form or give our practice a call at (703) 723-9909 and a team member will work with you and your schedule to find a time that works best.

Absolutely! It is extremely important that patients who are going through orthodontic treatment still come to the dentist regularly, especially individuals who are wearing braces. Food often gets trapped in places that a toothbrush may not get to which can cause plaque and tartar buildup, leading to cavities and conditions like gum disease. Our professional dental cleanings make sure your teeth stay nice and healthy while you finish your orthodontic treatment.

At Ashburn Dentistry by Design, we are happy to offer our patients same-day appointments as part of our emergency dental care. We understand that tooth pain can be unbearable, and we are here to provide you with pain relief and restore your oral health.

Swollen and red gums are a common symptom of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the condition. Dr. Khalil or one of our expert dentists will perform a thorough exam to check the health of your gums and make an accurate diagnosis. If they do find gum disease, they will provide you with an in-depth explanation of what’s going on and come up with a treatment plan that works for you.

A good rule of thumb is to change your toothbrush every 3 months. If you’ve been sick, you should switch out to a new one as soon as you start feeling better. Some electronic toothbrushes will tell you when to swap out the toothbrush heads like when the color changes—be sure to read the instructions as different manufacturers may have different guidelines.
